There is a labyrinth of laws that help define, record, and protect intellectual property rights (IPR) domestically.  There are enhanced protections at the border that allow federal enforcement authorities to detect, seize, and destroy counterfeit products and penalize violators, but these laws require IPR holders to first take certain steps and coordinate with the relevant agencies.  On the flip side of these efforts, there are importers who need to defend against penalties, seizure notices, and lawsuits.  This webinar will survey the relevant laws and suggest the steps IPR holders should take to protect their interests and will arm importers accused of violations with possible strategies.
